I like a dinette. I realize you are mostly outdoors but it is nice to sit at a normal table when you are inside due to weather etc.
I have always thought a dinette would be better but I love lounging or napping on my couch and my dog has to use the couch to jumo up and down to the goose neck area and I don't think he could jump down on a dinette because the table would be in the way. I am all about the most comfort for my lil man :)

For me its always a sofa. The rare time I need a table I will deal with the free standing table. But for you, if you like sitting and playing games or bring your laptop along you might want to have the dinette.
Hey... I just talked out of both sides of my mouth. Maybe I should run for office

I always wanted the dinette, but my wife wanted the couch. Guess which one we got? Now I love the couch. More room to move around, stretch out what ever. Had our 6'4", 220 lbs. son go with us for the first time a couple weeks ago. He slept comfortabley on the jackknife. Doubt that he would have on a dinette. Also the couch folds up, or out, so much easier than a dinette.

I have always really, really wanted a dinette, but I worry about resale. There also doesn't seem to be many trailers already out there to pick from. I thought I would have to do a special order to get one.
I just bought a Cimarron with a couch. I'm thinking of asking a carpenter to build me a little table that I can slip over the couch seat in the middle so I have some space to put a meal. It would be something like a glorified TV tray, but the tabletop would be over the couch itself, instead of in front of it to save room
Does anyone else have an idea of how I can get a portable tabletop for a couch? It would have to be removable in case I want to pull the couch out into a sleeper.

Hillview, I had trouble deciding, dinette or couch. I wanted a dinette originally and then switched to couch. I found my perfect trailer and it had a dinette! From dealer research, it's about 50/50 couch and dinette out there, so resale should not be an issue in the couch/dinette debate. One of my complaints with the couch was the table issue. Then, I saw the perfect set up. The table was a fold down table. The table, when folded down was behind your calves if you were sitting on the couch and flat against the couch base (table top verticle to the floor). To use the table, one would pull out and up in a arch until the table was fully parallel to the floor. I have not seen one in person, but have seen them in photos on HTW.

Definitely a couch ... how much time do you spend sitting at a table while you are camping? We love our couch and our dog does too! We have a table that can be set up in front of the couch and only used it one time in 3 years! it's great to be able to sit on the couch to put your boots on, sit and talk, etc.

When we were looking for a trailer (used) I thought I really wanted a couch, ended up with a dinette becuase that is the trailer we found that fit what we wanted. After having the trailer for a while I am really happy with the table, we go to a lot of day shows and there have been several times at the end of the day that me and a buddy sat across the table and had a drink while the kids played outside. I think if we had a couch we would have felt like we were on a date.
