I tried to do a search and it doesn't seem these have been reviewed by MrTruck at all. I know they are not 4-Star/Platinum/Elite quality, but I was just curious what the opinions of them are? Middle of the road? Super low end? How is the construction if anyone knows? Thanks!

Lakota is their own brand- drive past the factory about once a month or more (was past it twice yesterday!).They sure look like nice trailers, but as crazy as it sounds I have not seen any other than from the highway in the factory lot or know of any dealerships around here that carry them, despite the proximity...

I am personally in the process of buying a Lakota Charger Warrior edition. 4-h with full living quarters w/slide out, mangeres, hay rack, the works! We have been looking for years. We have seen alot of trailers and this one has all we have looked for. They have a very good warranty and the quality is better that most of the big name ones. We are dealing with Lakota of Ohio and they have been great to work with. We traded our old silver star 3h w/finished dressing room and they gave us what we wanted for it no haggle at all. I found the trailer on trailerworld in Fl., but it was going to have to be ordered either way. They matched the price. They are going to deleiver the trailer and pick mine up for free.  Unfortunately they are no dealership in NC that stock these trailers either so we are buying one and have never seen one in person this part I hate, but as long as it is Like the one in the pic I'll be one happy camper.

Just a dumb question: If you've never seen one in person, how can you attest to the value of its quality?

from what the factory has as their standards of construction. We have only heard good reviews also. My husband is super picky about all of those specs. And I just care if it is pretty inside and will haul all my junk. They also have a very good warranty. This company has been building campers for for over 20 yrs and just started to build horse trailers for 6yrs but so far they do know what they are doing. They just do charge the $$$$$ sundowner would charge for the same thing. Try to get a sundowner or Keifer built  4h w/20ft living qt w/slide for $47k. good luck even finding a used one. The Lakota official web page is very informative and so was Gary Stites the owner of Lakota of Ohio. I am very excited to see what it all looks like when they pull up. I would have like to have seen on inperson but I just cann't  drive to AL or GA to see it. I know it does sound crazy to spend so much on a trailer you have never seen but I have faith.

Really, 20 years?  Maybe 6 years on horse trailers but not 20 in campers.  The Lakota brand in RV's is owned by Monaco and is built under its McKenzie towable brand (an clone of the more popular Holiday Rambler towable products).

I'd be a little cautious of what is being left off this trailer for that price. This should weigh over 12,000# empty? What size are axles and tires?

is that a 20' short wall with slide out? 4h?  You will have so much room!  Hey, a spacious driveway wll be a necessity!!!  I would want to have a luscious covered storage place with hookups,  that I could pull through and circle the estate to head out for a trip!  What amenities are you getting?

Hi, It is a 15 ft short wall 20ft long wall with 72" slide out. It weighs 9900 lbs. w/7000 lb axles. I don't care for Lakota's web site it is not as informative as I would like for it to be. I have not been able to find any info. about there being any issues that others have had with thiers having problems. So I hope this one will last us at least 15-20 yrs before we have any major problems. I know they all have little issues that come up I just don't want to fix stuff all the time. The dealer  said that is  trying to have a 100% customer satisfaction with these trailers. We do have a huge farm with plenty of room to turn around, thank god it is 40' from the neck to the tail lighhts. I don't plan on backing this thing up myself I'll let my husband do all that. I'll drive it if I have too as long as I have a nice wide road that is not too curvy. But you never know when you will have to be the DD.

9900lbs.?  That must be with the new Helium tires!  Don't want to come across as the dbag, but that just doesn't sound right.  It sounds like the source you are getting your information from has not been dealing honestly with you.  If there weight is accurate, you have to consider what they are taking out or whats missing.  To compare them to a 4-Star, Platinum or Elite isn't very accurate.  They might make a decent trailer, but not to the level those listed.

lorri, I'm with nobody, the weight doesn't seem correct.  For example: Featherlite, 2H 6' SW, no mid tack; 6,400 lbs.  Featherlite, 3H 10' SW, no mid tack, no slide; 9,600 lbs.  Perhaps the weight quoted is prior to the LQ installation?

horsecamper...I agree with you, I have a 3H LQ with an 8 1/2 foot short wall and it weighs slightly less than 9000lbs. It sure sounds odd that a LQ with a 15 ft short wall would only weigh a little more than my much smaller trailer.

Well it could be right... My trailer is a 4H Merhow w/ 4' weekender and it only weighs in at 4600lbs (if I remember correctly, I'll pull out the weight ticket later). It is on the small side but still a full 32' long. That weight is verified by scale (we have a scale at work I can use any time). Vin tag lists it at 4200# empty as it left the factory. When shopping for trailers Featherlite trailers aren't, they tended to be the heaviest of all the trailers we looked at (vin tag listed weight, anyway).

I just checked my records and my trailer weighs in at 4900lbs empty on the scale (4897 actually). That was with everything we normally carry in there- saddles and all LQ goodies. Granted ours if lighter because of no running water or bathroom but has microwave, stove-top and fridge. It is only a 4' short wall but is 24' on the floor and is 32' long with the gooseneck. My vin tag reads 4400#.

I have a 2007 Lakota 4 horse with a 10 foot short wall, full LQ.  My trailer empty weighs 8220 on the scales at Flying J.

Lakota stood behind my trailer very well.  I have one of the last trailer with the LQ done by a third party.  My LQ had a few issues that the installer refused to correct.  Lakota picked my trailer up at the dealer, took it to their factory, corrected the problem all at no charge.  If you seach this sight for things posted by me you will see what I am speaking of.

The quality of my trailer is very high if you ask me, I have zero complaints, well I have one, I don't get to use it enough.  You will not go wrong with a Lakota.

I hauled a 2010 Charger 3hs with a 15ft LQ with slide-out (@6ft, I'm not sure) for a guy and out of curiosity, I weighed it.  The jack weight was 4400 and the tandem weight was 5960, total 10,360. This trailer was straight from the dealership. The total trk and trailer was 17,240 (not that it matters) with my '03 F-350 crew cab.

We also looked at the weight on our old one and thought it was comperable. I dont think they skimped on the frame they have said on the web site that it is 33% stronger than the nation standards. the floor is 20% stronger than nat.standards.
