Don't know if this will be helpful right now. We are having our new trailer conversion done by Cowboy Classics. It should be done by the last of April. Hopefully we made the right decision and will know more when we use it. We went to Nixa Mo. and looked at their work and work in progress. They use good materials and will work with you on any setup or design you want. Since we already had a LQ trailer we really had a lot of special things we wanted and was included in the price. Functional and set up for how we camp. They have come out with a lot of new things we never had, closets in the nose and above the windows, sofa, extra light swiches, etc. Took 6 months to figure what we really wanted but they worked with us. (real wood etc.) in a mid range price. ($4,000.00 less than some of the newer conversions out there.)It's a big building and had several trailers in different stages of completion and how everything is double checked and signed off on.

They bought out KWG Converisions several years back. We had this in our old living quarters and it was good materials, but the installation left a lot to be desired. We were deciding what to do, so we talked to the management of Cowboy Classics and said they (KWG) had a quality control problem with their workers and they had to sell out. (Sometimes they were good and sometimes not) We can agree with that.

You just have to know what is important to yourself and what one is willing to pay.(they will give you an estimate) We will know in April if we made the right decision. Take your time and get what is important to you. I would strongly suggest to go visit the factory and decide for yourself. Call ahead of time and Roger will show you the plant and what kind of work they do.

We'll know more "after" we get our trailer. Good Luck!!

Thank you.

It mainly depends on when they get the trailer. (we ordered a new one) when it arrives at Cowboy Classics and how many are in line in front of you. We delt with Cowboy Classics ourselves (the trailer has to be set up for how one wants it designed, the trailer company will work with them.) Some dealers will only use one company and they are high end with way too many bells and whistles for our money or a basic pkg that didn't have what we wanted. We wanted quality and function.

Cowboy Classics are suppose to call us and let us now when the trailer is there. Something one could call them on and ask an approximate time. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Just figure how you want it set up and keep your original plans of what is important to you.

They did our trailer a couple years ago and were wonderful to work with. Great work, on-time and very fairly priced. The owner bought out both KWG and Freedom Creek four or five years ago and has really turned it around and made a great company. I know he paid several hundred thousand dollars of KWG and Freedom Creek warranty that he could have walked away from, but he's that not type of guy. I would recommend them unconditionally.

I guess one always second guesses a decision, but thanks everyone for your comments. We were impressed with Roger also and that is why we are having him build our conversion. We can't wait till our trailer is done, in about a month!

I'm glad somebody bought that business and is turning it around! I bought a '97 4star with an Imperial LQ, which turned into KWG, etc, etc. LQ was a piece of junk. Make sure this company has nothing to do with the other business or workers.

Sadly no. Quit about six months after we got our trailer. We are still really pleased with the conversion in our trailer. No problems at all. So happy we had it done when we did.

We purchased an Elite trailer from Denny's Trailer Sales in MN and they had worked with Cowboy classics at the time. They now have a conversion company closer to them. I don't know anything about the people that make their conversions, but you could call Denny's and ask them who they use. They may know of someone that does quality work closer to you. Ask around and see what others say about their interiors. Good and bad ones out there. Good luck! Wish I could have been of more help.

Denny's now uses this company, http://www.crosscountryconversions.com/. We have looked at their work while at Denny's many times and are very impressed. we also have a Cowboy Classic conversion in our Elite so we use that as our standard.

There is also Trail Boss Conversions located in Bates City, MO just east of Kansas City along I-70.  They do a really nice job and have been around awhile.

Yes, Trail Boss does very nice work. They did our last trailer in 2011. Our good friend builds cabinets and was impressed with the quality. We visited the plant when our trailer arrived and we toured the plant. I would suggest you call them. They were very helpful.
