I have a rear tack in my LQ trailer. When I arrive at my destination, the saddles have slid sideways off the rack and are leaning against the sidewall. I guess the sheepskin is not gripping the carpet on the racks. What's a good solution for this problem? I can't be the only one having it.

Tim, I don't have this problem with my current trailers, but on an different manufacturer's model I did. I used a bungee and bungeed the saddle to the rack.

I had that same problem in my friends trailer it was a sooner but in my featherlite it doesn't happen. But my saddle racks are plastic and I can't remeber what his were. But it always happened to the top two saddles.

I've used water pipe insulation if the racks have rods. Just get the smallest diameter you can, put it on the rods, a little duct tape around it and they will never fall off again. If you have the sheet metal or plastic type, use some outdoor carpet and rubber glue it on the sheet metal/plastic. Don't need to do the entire rack, just a few strips.

I bungee mine in but I have noticed that moving my horse up to the 1st stall instead of the middle has made my trailer bounce less. Just went 130 miles with a glass of water on the counter and it didn't move or spill. So I am thinking bungees may not still be needed

I wish I could blame it on her AQHA, I always try, but I do the driving. I failed to mention that my racks are carpeted, but the saddles still slide off.

The racks in my trailer are plastic, shaped to fit a saddle and not carpeted. I never have a problem and my husband never drives my truck and trailer! One time I asked him to park the trailer and he disconnected the gooseneck and put the tailgate back up before he drove away... BIG DENT! Thanks honey, but I'll do it myself from now on...

Not much luck with saddles staying on the racks... Took the racks out of the head to head trailer. We keep them in quilted bags, stack them on the DR and or the mid tack floors. We'll carry as many as 12 saddles for three horses to a Walking Horse Versatility show.
