I just purchased a used biothane halter/bridle last week at a barn sale. The h/b is black and reins are lavender & black. My question is: does anyone know of a way to dye biothane? I'm not really wild about lavender (thank goodness it isn't pink!), and would like to make the reins black if possible.

Automotive upholstery shops use a variety of dyes and paints on vinyl and leather products. They would be a good source of information and products. Duplicolor just came out with a new spray paint, that can be used on both natural and man made upholstery products.

Sell the reins and buy black ones. I don't think you would be very successful at dyeing biothane. Beta Biothane reins are very nice and inexpensive. You will love the stuff though, as it does not require more than a hosing off.
