Hi, I am new to this site, but am hoping someone can help me.  I have a 1999 Logan wrangler with a front tack.  We bought it used without a key to the tack room.. It has never been a problem until now.. First off I am unsure if it locked from the inside or if it actally broke. We live in a pretty remote area, so I don't have a ton of options here.  Any one have any suggestions on how to remove a flat faced lock or pick a lock to get in. We contacted Logan trailers, but they unfortunatly do not use this lock any more so they were not able to help us..

Any ideas would be appreciated..

Could they tell you the brand so maybe you could call the manufacturer of the lock?

I would call a locksmith,or contact Logan again to who they use to supply their door locks.I've seen trailers with dressing room door locks picked or broken into, and, you can ruin the looks of them. You don't want to devalue your nice trailer.I'd get a locksmith and have a new key made for it.

I locked myself out of my trailer one unfortunate morning...while camping and feeding in my pajamas at the rodeo grounds...couldn't get into the truck or trailer to get phone, etc., so I ended up having to take the door off the hinges. It worked to get me into the trailer to undo the lock from the inside. If you have exposed hinges, this might work until you can get a locksmith to retool or replace the lock for you.

No advice on the lock situation but have a funny story about jumping into the dressing room on a friends ponderosa stock trailer to get something.  The trailer was on a slight hill and as I jumped in the door swung shut behind me.  The impact of the door slamming shut caused the metal rod which locks the door in place (on the OUTSIDE of the trailer) to drop in place, neatly locking me in.  Luckily I had my cell phone and was able to call another friend to come let me out.  I was sure sheepish about that little episode and took a long time to live it down...LOL
