Nice trailer... A/C for the horses too.

doesn't seem to be a usa telephone number.

Must have a pricey money transfer fee.

No wonder I can't even get a phone call for my 2003 priced at $44,900.  Well, it's good to know that I'm only asking about $40K too much.

the scammers are getting worse.. Recently we advertised our daughter's used bike for sale on craigslist.. You wouldn't believe how many replies we got to the ad starting with; Hi I'm blah blah blah from (you fill in the blank)..Germany, BC, Wisconcin, Virginia etc, etc and I'm very interested in your [bike].. They actually had the word bike in brackets.. Like we can't spot that?  I actually andswered one:" Hi Mr Scammer.. I'm not sure why you would want to buy a used kid's [ bike ] and ship it to Germany.. You might want to look for a [bike] a little closer to home.."

Do people actually fall for that?  To me they are so easy to spot.. you'd think the scammers would get discouraged and try something else.. maybe like .. get a job?

I recently advertised my horse trailer on Craigslist after hearing such glowing reports of results from a friend of mine about it.

All I got out of that were some emails from scammers! First two that came said, simply,"Do you need help?" I replied,"No,why?" Next one said "Do you need financial help?" I said,"Nope, sure don't,what gives you that idea?" Then they emailed several get rich quick scheme ads to me.

I emailed them one last time and said,"Just because I"m selling something doesn't mean I need any crap from you." From then on,I only listed my phone # as a contact means. When they call you,you know they are pretty serious about what you are selling.

Yes.. We got the same "do you need money?" replies also...  I actually got ANOTHER reply for the bike (long sold) yesterday to which I replied "sorry, it is sold".  Today I got a return reply stating "thanks for your reply please give me your name, adress, pho no.".. (etc).." so we can mail you your certified check"..  Again, I don't see haow they would have enough favorable response from this type of scamming to make it worthwhile..

Interesting! A friend of mine had run across this ad and couldn't believe the price...we thought it was a typo. Seemed too good to be true, right?! We can't find ad since, although he did e-mail friend back...wondering where you all saw it. Wonder if he pulled it so he won't get caught?? Did anyone try to contact this guy?? How do we find out of this guy really is a scammer?

casey... Here's a few clues.... That trailer's price was about $40000.00 shy of the going rate.... Alot of the time the contact phone number doesn't match up with said city. Can't be reached by phone. Wants you to send them some money, etc. etc....  Too good to be true, you betcha!!

Thanks, that's what I thought. We know to be careful, but it is so frustrating that people are getting away with this sort of thing. Grr!

I sell golf carts on the craig's list for a living and here is how I handle the scammers.

I know up front that they are going to send me a fake check for more than my item amount and ask me to send the extrs funds to their shipoper.

I make me up a good name like>>> Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Roy Rogers, Daffy Duck, Mickey Mouse, Eight Ball Obama, etc.

The way I look at it is if they have no idea who these American Icon names are then I will let them spend $27.50 to overnight me a fake check for my collection.

Sometimes when they follow up I tell them that my dog ate the envelope or I dropped it and ran over it with the lawn mower and get them to send me a secod check.

Try it,  it is fun.
