I just received my 30 gal. fresh water tank from Randpcarrages an ebay store that I paid an unbelievable $48.88 for. The drain fitting is about an inch above the bottom because of the overall ring diameter of the fitting. How do you comlpetely drain the tank without leaving any water in it when the trailer is in storage for the winter ? I am thinking I would have to pump the last litlle bit below the drain hole out somehow.

You can either shim the tank on the opposite side of the drain and/or install a drain in the bottom of the tank and put a plug in the drain fitting located on the side of the tank.

If you purge your system with anti freeze in the fall, the little remaining water is a moot point. It will be flushed and replaced in the Spring. If you don't drain it, the remaining water will not harm your tank when it freezes.
It is very difficult to add ports to a polypropylene water tank. If it is of an ABS construction, drain valves and most other plumbing fittings are easily attached and modified.
