Hey everyone! This may seem obvious to some.. or even most.. but if you expect to sell a trailer, esp one that is LQ and fairly expensive in the grand scheme of things, it really helps if the prospective buyers don't have to walk thru over ankle deep water and mud to view. Not only is it damp on the toes, the prospective buyers can see others have tromped mud through and through. Especially for the commercial sellers, a little gravel.. or even a board walk!.. might go a long way. There were other factors in play that we decided not to buy from this dealer, but the swamp certainly was a factor (i.e. we thought that horse trailer buyers were not of great importance to him). We did buy an LQ trailer from another dealer within the same week - same pricing area of $30-$35K. Anyway, this ls one of the bigger trailer dealers in our area, so I thought it worth mentioning. Plus, I was fairly appalled at the conditions - at least he could have told me to wear mud boots when I called!!

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. No accounting for mother nature. On the other hand, two other dealers dealt with the problem very satisfactorily and one of those also had a grassy driveway. It's been raining here every day for the past several weeks. Negotiating 8 inch ruts filled with water after I had called to make an appointment and traveled 4 hours just made me somewhat cranky. A couple strategically placed planks would have been welcomed.

Well, actually the trip was very worthwhile. Although the trailer on the lot didn't suit my purposes, there's no way I'd have known that without being able to walk through it. I didn't rule out that brand of trailer, just that particular model / floor plan. It helped my search immensely. To me the water was an indication of shoddy customer service. There are a lot of great trailer deals on the market right now. Why not make "your" trailer presentation stand out positively and not negatively?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought you was going to buy and trailer. By the sound of it you was more interested in the buisness. The condition of the lot has nothing to do with customer service at all! I have been to different dealers around here and have actually found lots with stanard ol' roadbase or grass ground had better service than fancy high dollar lots did. Guess they save money on looks and spend it on what matter! (the customer) In my car buisness my lot is not fancy at all, but my customers are always 1st! Guess we are doing something right we have been here in the same location since August 1983!

LOL, I picked up my new trailer last night! A 2008 Adam 8' short wall LQ. Yup, I did check out all the businesses where I looked. Checked their web sites, their trailer manufacturers' web sites, specifications, reviews, comments, kudos, complaints anywhere I could find them, on the dealer and the trailer make/model. I'll admit, I'm very thorough. So, yeah when I visit a dealer I'm still in the "plus / minus" calculation mode! I might buy.. and then again maybe not.. or I might need to think about it for awhile. Seems reasonable to me.

Yes, that's the pic that's listed with the ad on this site. They have two almost identical-looking trailers (from the outside) on the lot. The options weren't listed quite accurately in the descriptions (I got the external stereo speakers, LOL) plus he swapped a stud partition in to the trailer that I wanted. And negotiated the price while giving me (what I think was) a fair trade in on my GN trailer with no hassle. A really nice family business.

Thank you! She is B-U-T-ful isn't she! I am so psyched! My Silver Star was the Supreme model, 3H as well, but it was only LQ READY. When we bought it we didn't quite have the $$ for the LQ and planned to do it after the fact. Well, you probably can guess that each year there came up other priorities that took the $$. Finally, this year was THE year. I did investigate having an LQ installed but there were a couple downsides to that plan at this stage of the game. Plus the SS was a 7' short wall and that extra foot of length in the Adam really helps with floor space. We camp with two dogs who consider themselves people, so they're in the living quarters (oh no, not in the horse area!) And it has a dinette instead of sofa.. a little more floor space under the table. Luckily, dogs are a small and a medium. LOL Now, to pack it!
