Recently upgraded from a F-350 to a Chevy C-4500 Kodiak. Was wondering what other peoples experiences were towing with a medium duty truck. What sort of fuel mileage? What gear in the rear end?

I usually get about 10 while towing, don't remember what gear the rear end has. The truck does well, great turning radius, and stopping ability2005 GMC 4500/Monroe upfit

I haven't had been able to pull mine on the interstate to see what sort of mpg for a long haul yet, but on the state hiways it is 10 times more secure feeling than my old truck. Pulls good at 55-65, stops and turns excellently. Was on the interstate yesterday briefly and it seemed gear bound. I think the rear gear is a 4.77? What rpm's does yours run on the interstate at 70-75?
For the past four years, General Motors has been trying to sell its medium duty truck business, which produces the giant Chevy Kodiak and GMC Topkick. Navistar, Isuzu and other unnamed suitors were all at one point in discussions with GM to make a deal, but none ever happened and today the automaker announced that it would will "wind down" production of the Kodiak and Topkick and cease production altogether on July 31st.

What you pulling with your Kodiak cause I've always used F-350's SRW and duallys never had problem pulling with them our 04 SRW gets 12-14 while our dually gets 10-11 with the same trailer on. Just wondering what kind of trailer you had to pull.

If it was me I'd buy a semi you can pick them up cheaper than a new truck and be way easier to stop and start with one. You can pick up semi's with 300,000 miles (not that many for semi either) for good price. Just an option.
