My new trailer has a 7 way pin connector (common semi plug) as it was used by a commercial cattle hauler, and my truck has the 7 way rv blade socket. Is there an adapter that I can simply hook on to the plug for this conversion or will I need to rewire the plug?

It would be best to put an all new 7 pin RV plug on the trailer. As has been reported on this forum many times, you have a greater chance of problems with an adapter. A new plug is fairly inexpensive and can be put on in about 10 minutes. As some others would advise put some dialectic grease on each of the connections to help prevent corrosion.

I was going to say the same thing about the lights. Does it just have the plug or is it wired to be hooked to a commercial truck? I know there are kits to go from a commercial truck to a rv type wiring but I don't know about the other way around.
