I'm soooo excited, in addition to the LP crock pot that was mentioned in another post, Coleman makes a LP oven and skillet. I'm seriously thinking about getting the oven. I always wanted an oven in my LQ, but the cost to add one or a convection Microwave was too costly. The Coleman oven is a 100 bucks. Has anyone tried it or the skillet?
I can imagine baking those pre-packaged chocolate chip cookies after a long days ride. Mmmmmm.

This is our newest camping accessory. We haven't used it yet, but the reviews on it were great! I'm looking forward to my first pan of biscuits from it.
You can use the small 1 pound bottles or hook it up to the 20 pound bottle.

Read the reviews on the coleman slow cooker/crockpot. I was going to get one until I read all the horrible reviews. It's a FAST cooker. It will quote "burn water". This was from more than several unhappy customers. It's not an appliance you can fire up and leave running for 8 hours. Just a heads-up.

I have the skillet. Weve used it quite a few times and haven't had any problems with it. Unless you count the time it was so windy it broke the tent poles and kept blowing out the flame.......
I want to get one of the ovens and I'd even try the slow cooker. I'll wait until Walmart gets the slow cooker that way if I don't like it I can return it.
I've read the reviews on some of the stuff I've bought and the ones that say they stink are the ones that complain that they couldn't understand the directions, so I think most of it is user error.

If you don't want to spend the money on the propane stove and you have electric hook-up or accessible, then the small countertop convection ovens work great. I take the one from home when I want to bake something while camping. I set it on a camp table outside under the awning and plug it up to my outside outlet of my LQ. I transport it in my shower while on the road. For us, an oven was something that we don't use every trip so we purchased a trailer without one. The countertop version is great because I can take it if I need it or leave it at home.

That's a good idea, it would be like an oven whenever you want it. If your LQ trailer did not come with an oven, I think that would be great! I searched high and low to find a trailer with an oven, not just a cooktop. I was browsing $60,000 price range Bison trailers before I found one with the "luxury" of an oven! I wound up finding an 87 Lazy-N that had all the same features as the expensive Bison, but for a fraction of the cost (obviously!). I love to take frozen pizzas, bagel bites, biscuits, hot wings, or garlic bread along. I don't know what I'd do without my oven!

I bought a small convection/toaster oven to take camping. As others have stated, it does a fine job on biscuits, casseroles, etc. An added bonus to using it outside is that it doesn't heat up your LQ in the summer.

look on ebay... there is an online store "just camp" or something like it ( as well as several other stores)that sells a LOT of coleman and coughlin camping items, including the blender, propane oven, slow cooker, and a deep fryer as well as other camping things... These things are all overstocks, seconds (scratch and ding items) as well as a few returns.. You can get it for a good bit cheaper.. I've bought a new sleeping bag and cot together for less than the cot alone would cost in cabelas. I am looking to get the slo cooker and the stove (although I like the one pictured above much better).. We may go camping to the big bend area this fall as a family getaway.. If so, I may upgrade to a larger tent for the whole famdamily.. The one I have is OK for my daughter and myself, and possibly squeeze my son in, but hubbby would definitely not fit... This place has a lot of such items for cheap..

It has been some time since I first posted the information about my new camp stove / oven, I am happy to say I finally got to use it. I was very pleased with the biscuits I baked in it, at first I was worried they wouldn't brown on top but they did. Because this doesn't have a temperature setting dial you have to watch the thermometer inside but I was able to keep the temp consistently between 350 and 375. If it seemed like the temp was getting too high to fast I just opened the oven door. While you don't have to sit and watch the temp constantly, it is a good idea to check it every 5 - 10 minutes. I hope everyone else who has one enjoys it as much as I do.

Has anyone ever heard of putting a ceramic tile under their baking pan to help make a gas oven cook more evenly and keep the bottoms of your biscuits from getting too dark? I read that somewhere, but wondered if it was safe to try....
