I was wondering where people are putting a cowboy shower in, are you putting it in the first stall, I have rubber mats not wood for my floor in the stalls, and how are you running the plumbing under the sub floor in the dressing room, and are you using PVC or copper pipe. Thanks Jim

I love my cowboy shower; hated the thought of those combined, potty/shower things, in my new trailer( husband put my LQ's in ) yes mine is in the first stall, butt end side of trailer, husband cut a hole in the floor, and mat, made a drain, and pipe that depending on where you are, you can run that water on the ground, or into a bucket. If you do some searches, you will find many threads about the showers. There have been many different installations, all suiting the individual requirements of the trailer owners. Pex flexible hose is an ideal way to run the plumbing, there are also previous posting about its usage. Spend some time with the search feature, and you'll learn quite a bit about the showers.

Wendy, Thanks that is were I was taking about the butt end and the drain in the floor is a good idea, my floor is solid rubber so I really don't have to worry about the wood flooring, if you come send some picture I am good to make my dress room into a LQ myself and am trying to get some ideas on how to lay it out, mine is a 10' long wall 6' short wall four horse slat. I picked up one of these last week at Tuesday Mornings for 18$. It is pretty cool w/a drain plug and it collapses down for easy storage. I figure we can take a shower, step out onto a dry platform and then empty the water onto a tree. There is a side pocket for your shampoo, etc so that it doesn't roll away.

I went to a store called Tuesday Mornings (http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/indexCatalogOn.asp) and picked it up. They are nationwide and carry odd stuff. Our local one had a stack of about 20 of them. They were orginally 25$ there and marked down to 18$.
It was so cool I had to pick one up for my neighbor too and she was thrilled.

My husband put in our LQs and we placed our cowboy shower in the front stall butt end as well. We also cut a hole through the rubber mat and the floor and we place a round rubber pan with a drain that connects to the hole in the floor , then we drain into a holding tank, as some places we go you cannot drain on the ground and we open our valve and drain it later. The holding tank is thin and fits perfectly between the trailer braces underneath. (It is from a wrecked RV.) The plumbing we ran from our sink in the LQs in the slant wall corner up the wall and placed the wall panel over the corner essentially making the corner square. It works great. The only thing I have against our cowboy shower is when it is cold outside it is a little chilly taking a shower away from the heated inside. If you do most of your travel in warm weather it won't be a problem.

you put a small instant hot that way the water is warm that is what I am planning on doing, when you get back from riding all day a nice warm show fells great in the colder weather

I will say that the best and cheapest thing to buy for the LQ's is a plug in that lets you know if the polarity is right or not; I blew and had to have husband replace from "bad" electricity at one show arena,,,first thing I do after unloading and pulling up to electic.........get the "checker" out
