The first trailer has only a modest sleeping area and the heaviest load, the horses, are carried above the axles.
The second trailer has a full LQ including a tip out, and has substantially more weight forward than the first. It not only has to carry the weight of the horses, but the LQ as well, without overloading the rating of a bumper hitch. The axles are positioned more forward, to carry more of the weight and better balance the trailer, while reducing the weight being placed on the hitch.

Gard I'm with you... The axles have to be forward to counter the wt. of the LQ. Even though the axles are forward on the larger LQ you will still have substantial wt. on the hitch. All in all I will stay with a GN when it comes to an LQ. You can have a modest LQ in a BP and get by but I think anything can be overdone.
I would love to design and build a small LQ in a BP. Maybe a 6' SW. Just enough room to put all you need and not be too heavy. I think it would sell. I personally know several folks that would love to have one, but no one builds a BP with a 6' SW without special ordering one.
