I have a 2002 Tundra 2WD, access cab V8 S5 and I am looking to buy a new trailer with living quarters.  I have read and tried to get a handle on all the towing info, weights, tongue weights, GVWR.... It is becoming mind numbing.

Long and short of it is can my truck pull a  5000lb trailer with gear and one horse?

Don't want to buy something that I can not safely haul.

The specs on the 2002 2WD Toys indicate a towing capacity of 4900# to 7200# depending on the drive train. Your owner's manual should give you the specs you need. The towing capabilities will vary depending on your engine, transmission, rear axle ratio, tires and wheels etc.

I have a three horse GN Exiss with a weekender package that weighs 5600# empty. A two horse trailer would weigh a few hundred pounds less. A two horse GN with a small short wall LQ carrying one horse may exceed your truck's capabilities.

thanks for the info.  I have looked at my manual.  Should have put that in my questio.  I have towing package and my truck is rated to 7200lbs.  Still, worried about trailer, 5000lbs, horse at 1000lbs plus gear.  I think I just answered my question.  Don't think I should do it.
