So, correct me if I am wrong, they will "buy it back" for purchase price less depreciation. It seems to me, a marketing ploy to get you to trade it in. They will than "fix it" and resale it....interesting.
My '12 has been "fixed" but I am going to take it in to see what the deal is. I suspect they just lowered the value of these models considerably due to the press....

This may ALSO be the future result of all of the vehicles awaiting airbag repairs...since it is a great likelihood the various auto manufacturers will NEVER get all the replacement airbags they need to repair all of the identified vehicles in a timely manner...

All this is going to do is increase the price of any new vehicle as the manufacturers are getting extremely scared of recalls along with reducing the price of any used trade in vehicle under the recall IMO.
I did visit with the local Dodge dealer yesterday. They had no clue as the what/how/where/when. Owner did state that they are getting a lot of heat and reg changes in regards to recalls. They can not take in or sell any vehicle with an open recall...so if you have a Chevy with an open recall and take it to the Dodge dealer, he can't trade for it until recall fixed. He expects the neighborhood used car dealers might struggle with this if it is ever enforced.
His other concern is that he expects prices to increase on new vehicles dramatically due to all the recalls that are going on.
