was wandering if any of you have changed out your old lighting in your horse trailer to LED lights. If so, have you notice increased battery life? Do the LEDs provide brighter lighting or less bright. Just curious before I make the change. thanks

LED lights use much less power than incandescent lighting and will greatly extend your battery usage. The lights' output will vary by how many and what size LEDs are used in each fixture. Their life spans are measured in tens of thousands of hours, and because many are sealed, corrosion contacts are minimised. Replacement bulbs will enable you to change out the original lighting, if you wish to maintain your present fixtures. The only down side is initial the cost of the LEDs, but the lack of follow up maintenance, convenience and usage of them is very worth while.

thank you Gard for the information. We seem to be going to more and more primitive camp grounds these days so I am looking at becoming as efficient as possible

I changed ours in our LQ and the difference in amp draw was alot. With the old bulbs the ceiling puck lights were drawing 24.4 amps , with the LED's it went went down to 1.8. Which is huge when camping primitive like we do most of the time, I changed all of them in the trailer except the horse area ( which is coming) for about $35. just search E-bay for RV LED lights and what ever the type of base the bulb has --G-4,1156, etc and a bunch will come up. I went with the bright white and like them.
