I am starting a search for a 3 horse trailer with lq. The brands I have researched as being the best are 4Star, Elite, Hart, Logan, Sooner and Sundowner. Any knowledge on these or others? Thanks for your input.

In my opinion it doesn't get any better than a 4-Star. Elite makes a fantastic trailer, very durable and long lasting like 4-Star. Be careful with some Logans because some models are steel frame- its not a problem, but just be aware of possible rust down the road. Hart and Cimarron are some of my other favorites IMO, both make very good trailers.

Shetron is my favorite brand, they have the best quality in my opinion. Plus they build to you specifications. You tell them what you want then they build it for you. My trailer turned out awesome! www.shetroncustomtrailers.com

I guess it would be your favorite trailer being as I might guess that you work at Sheltron.... Anyway, why the move from Shippensburg, Pa. to Salisbury, N.C.? Cheaper labor, weather, etc.?

I've been a lot of miles to a lot of rodeos and I've never seen nor heard of a Shetron.I would have to get up close to one before I declared it the best. In the mean time I guess I'll stick with my Elites.

My favorite brand is called "PAID FOR." It beats any other hands down!
seriously, what others have for a trailer is not really all that important. Find what YOU like, what fits YOUR needs, and YOUR budget.
Amen on that, buy what you can and still be able to run down the road with. We shopped for a year before we found a smoking deal, we will own it out right in two years and are happy happy.

Shetron Custom trailers has new owners and moved to NC from PA mainly due to weather. The new owners are Australian and don't care much for cold weather.
As far as not seeing many of them they are relatively new and have never been advertised much before now. Its hard to see the difference in quality in a picture, which is why Shetron Custom Trailers is open to the public for shop tours so people can see the quality that goes into each and every trailer. I don't know of many other trailer companies that will let you come into the work area and see how the building process.

I am partial to 4 Star Trailers. The behind the scenes of 4 Star is awesome. Their quality is far above the other brands... I have the luxury of working for 4 Star at their plant in OKC and let me be the first to tell you... structurally they are so advanced. I personally own an older Sooner, but I will be getting a 4 star.

Most trailer companies will build to client specifics... if you look around the majority of all MAJOR trailer brands will customize a trailer to suit one's needs.

Well I just bought me a new Cimarron and couldn't be happier. I have owned a Sundowner since 2000 and looked at the new ones again but the quality just isn't there. If you look at how the Cimarron is made you will understand, all the doors and drop windows are welded aluminum frames with Grease fittings in all hinges. You don't see that on the other trailers out there. They even have adjustable strike plates where the door or window latch hits so you can always keep it adjusted. Miehael Terry the owner of Cimarron used to work at Hart and left there to start his own brand so there are alot of Hart ideas included in this trailer. And it pulls better than my lighter Sundowner ever did. So my vote is Cimarron http://cimarrontrailers.com/
