We have secondary water in my area. Unlike city water it is intended for irrigation use only. But it has much better pressure than my city water.  They turn it on April 15th and turn it off Oct 15th. So I usually try and hose out my trailer with it before they shut the system down. Beside, I've usually been elk hunting the last part of Sept and the first couple of weeks of Oct.

My trailer was especially muddy on the outside this year.  Dragging it down 20 miles of Forest Service roads after a 4 days of rain, had really packed the mud on.

So I swept out the shavings, hosed out the inside, under the matts, the walls and even the ceiling. Basically washed out all the dust and grime.  Next started on the outside and washed off the mud.  I still need to visit a car wash and get some soap over the trailer to finish cleaning it. But at least I won't be spending $50 in quarters to get the heavy dirt off. Beside the car wash owner hates me washing any shaving or manure into his drains. It plugs his filters.

So one more ritual of the fall completed.

I need to do the same thing. Every week the boss keeps saying she's going camping one more weekend, so I'll procrastinate until the weather forces a winterization project. It does give a reason to really inspect things and make sure everything is in order. Having a clean trailer ready for Spring use, not worrying about the damage unattended messes may have done, is a good way to start the season. Those who take the time to do what you have done, enjoy fewer repairs and take pride in their ownership of their rigs.

Our local car washes won't consider any kind of trailers in their establishments. Many quad owners would clean their machines after a muddy day and plug the drains. The lawn services would leave piles of clippings. I was kicked out of one whilst foaming the engine bay of my car. It's generally a vehicle exterior wash policy only, in my neighbourhood. Some of our local truck stops, that have DIY wash equipment, allow trailers, and often times contractors use them to clean up after they're done with a job.

Hard to believe another summer has passed by so quickly. Our trees are half bare already. The Fall winds and rain are quickly stripping their branches of the bright colours.

I guess I'm pretty lucky,I can wash my big trailers at the farm on the washpad where they wash off farm equipment.I find I am not as "meticulous" as I once was about washing and cleaning,it doesn't have to be every speck removed as it once was.I hit the high points and the important, but, find I just can't spare the time for the detail work (not to mention energy!)

Same here.  We emptied out the LQ this past weekend and moved into the BP for the winter.  I had to order some streakmaster products as I love to put the rig away shiny and clean inside and out with hopes that the spring opening will be quick and easy.

I still have to clean out the horse area, go thru my "stuff" and say good bye for a few months.

I am planning on a solar upgrade this winter and a set of tires.  I replaced the rear axle's tires last spring and will do the front axle this spring.

We are hoping to get at least 3 more camping weekends in before winterizing if it ever stops raining.  We had rain & almost 1 half inch of hail on our deck last Friday - eastern end of PA has been hit hard with rain & it seems the ground just doesn't have a chance to dry out.  Set a new record in August of 19 inches - old record was 12.  Raining again today but weekend forecast is good. I coated the trailer floor last Spring with the duplicolor per Gard's instructions, so although sad the season is coming to a close, I am somewhat anxious to pull the mats & see how it looks!  Horse area is fully insulated & finished off so we power wash the ceiling, walls, floor & mats & everything looks like brand new for spring.

We clean our trailer after every trip, inside and out... We use aluminum wheel cleaner on the lower part, and black streak remover on the white above. Then use a carwash/wax over all of it. Inside is always vacuumed and wiped down.... We don't winterize, we keep it plugged into our RV outlet with a thermostat set low.. that way it is always ready to roll. I Hate Winter!!!

Help please. We have a Bison Stratus that is black with shiny metal on the front. We waxed it and the black turned out well - but the shiny streaked and looks awful. I think it is shiny aluminum - but I am not sure. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

The finish on a Bison is a clear coated stainless. Once the finish is damaged, the whole involved panel has to be recoated. Polishing just the bare metal will look different than the coated metal.

Why do they do that?

Our Sooner has a Stainless front and it is not coated yet always has remained shinny. I clean it with just about anything that is on the brush at the time.

Is it the grade of Stainless?

I couldn't agree more....when I clean up my trailer at the end of the year I always make a list of all of the things I took off (food, some of the show cloths, water bottle, etc) and also all of the things I need to put back togeather (rod in the hot water heater, connect batteries, etc) this makes it really easy to get things going again in the spring.

I've noticed a number of mentions in this topic regarding "streakmaster products". I haven't found anything that works well for this - what's everyone using?
