Attention Dealers and individuals who have trailers advertised on HTW....yesterday we received an email appearing to be from HorseTrailerWorld ad manager regarding one of the trailers we currently have listed for sale. The email requested proof of ownership and ask for a copy of the trailer VIN and title as well as our account password. The email threatened to shut down our account if we didn't send the required information. I called HTW to confirm if this email was from them and they said it is not coming from them. Please DO NOT reply or send any information on your trailers without confirming the source.

That's true....it could be a virus also--there wasn't any attachment with it. The address shows up in the From line as: Horse Trailer World Ad Manager [admgr.horsetrailerworld@email.com]

Thanks for posting this. It's called phishing. I don't get a day that goes by where I don't get emails from Bank of America or even Facebook and Paypal, or Western Union advising me that I need to correct my personal information or my account will be closed immediately.
I don't even have accounts with these companies. But the emails have very real headers and graphics. It indeed is a scarey world.
