Does anyone use one of these bits on a gaited horse? If so, which one and what other bits did you try before the Mikmar. Thanks.

What are you trying to accomplish with the bit? If you are trying to improve gait, the MikMar or any other bit will not accomplish this task by magic as the MikMar bit ads imply. For a smoother gait, teaching the horse to collect and work from the hindquarters is the "Magic".

Now if you are trying to achieve vertical flexion which in turn will improve your horses gait, the MikMar or several other bit brands such as Myler level 1 bits can accomplish this task.

Just out of curiosity, I purchased a MikMar combination bit on eBay. I really didn't find it easier to teach vertical flexion with this bit than a regular comfort port Myler snaffle bit. Steady and consistant training is the secret. :)  I didn't get any faster results using a Mikmar than other bit brands.

So, I'd get a used one off eBay or borrow one before paying full price to see if the bit will work for you situation.
