It's a dog rescue . . . by another dog.

The video, from Azteca America Colorado, shows an injured dog lying in the middle of a freeway after being hit by a car, while a rescue dog dodges traffic to run to its side. The rescue dog then drags the severely injured canine across lanes of traffic as cars swerve around it.

It was on the home page of Fox News this morning.

Made me look at my dog by my desk here . . . in a whole new light.

Amazing.  Back in the early 70's we had a lab mix named "Damon" that would chase cars.  He had a German Sheppard buddy named "Saber". When Damon would chase a car, Saber would chase him, get between Damon and the car and herd Damon away from it.  He broke Damon of chasing cars.

They were really good friends and though Saber was kept in the house, when he would escape he would come over to our house and play with Damon. He lived about a mile away. His owners would drive to our house and ask if Saber was there.  A few years later, they moved about 5 miles away and Saber showed up again one more time as if to say goodbye....

I too saw that on Fox news.  They said that both dogs survived.

Homeless dog tries to save dog hit by car in Chile

Chileans have a new hero: an apparently homeless dog that pulled the body of another dog through traffic off a busy highway. A surveillance camera on a Santiago freeway captured images of a dog trotting past speeding cars to pull the lifeless body of the other canine, which had been run over by a vehicle, away from traffic and onto the median strip.

The scene was broadcast by Chilean television stations and then posted on Web sites such as YouTube.com, and hundreds of thousands of people had viewed versions of it by Monday.

Highway crews removed both the dead and live dogs from the median strip of the Vespucio Norte Highway shortly after the Dec. 4 incident. But the rescuer dog ran away.

Authorities say images of the rescue prompted some people to call and offer to adopt the dog, but neither highway workers nor a television crew could find they animal.

I missed it.  You tube said the video was removed for violating something or another.

In all reality... My guess is the HERO dog was probably looking for a meal.

Here's a vid in this link... http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/unleashed/2008/12/hero-dog-saves.html

Wonder if dog court will rule that the dragged dog's family can sue the dog for attempted rescue, like the stupid bunch from California ruled: case where coworker removed the woman from the vehicle and she is suing her because she is now paralyzed. And I need to add that she rescued her because of a fire risk,I think.

That is a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.  If you help you get sued if you don't you get arrested/sued for not "rendering aid" that are with in you ability.
