Subject: To cross or not to cross gooseneck chains

Im new to this gooseneck trailering.Maybe someone can help me with my question.I was told in the state of massachusetts its the law that you have to have your chains crossed.When I had my BP I crossed my chains.Do I cross gooseneck chains or not to Cross that is my question. thank you.

By crossing the chains with a BP, the tongue will be supported if the hitch fails, and is not enabled to dig into the road.

A GN's chains, usually will not allow the king pin to escape the truck's bed, which allows some control in steering the nose of a loose trailer. The only way the king pin can touch the pavement, is if the chains fail and the trailer is running free. I agree, when pulling a GN, don't cross the chains.

thank you.I was told yes and know so I thought I would ask some people that know. TY ps I do have to agree with people that told me pulling a gooseneck is a lot better than a BP.Wount go back to a BP goosenecks are a lot better.
