2016  Bockmann

Description:  NO TRUCK??? NO PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This 2016 Bockmann Big Champion R has only had one owner (me!) and has only had horses in it once. Shortly after purchasing the trailer, my mare became unrideable. I have put brand-new tires on just because the others sat for so long. They looked fine, but I didn't want to take any chances. They can be hard to find. There is only one importer of these trailers in the USA (on the East Coast), so getting them can be tricky. Here's detailed information about this trailer: Böckmanns can be pulled safely by smaller-than-typical vehicles, but they’re far more than just lightweight trailers. The ramp/door may be lowered as a ramp or swung aside to permit step-up loading. Whether your horse prefers a ramp or step-up, the ramp/door has you covered. 2H straight load for horses to 17 hands. What really sets them apart from the crowd is that they can be pulled safely by many of today’s more fuel-efficient downsized SUVs and trucks. In many parts of the world, they’re pulled safely by cars. Böckmann trailers feature unitized construction, where walls, roof, floor, and chassis reinforce each other to create a strong but light 3-dimensional structure. Unitized construction has been used in most automobiles for 30 years, so it's a well-proven design approach. While it's easy to just use fewer or thinner materials to achieve lighter weight, Böckmann‘s unitized construction shows that they take an intelligent approach to reducing weight while maintaining excellent strength. The Big Champion R is a roomy 2H straight load for horses to 17 hands. The trailer's body length is approximately 10'9", and the interior height is nearly 7'7". Böckmann's Multi Safe System (MSS) breast bars and butt bars have multiple height adjustments, and the butt bar mounts are angled so that as you lower a bar, it also shortens the stall. The MSS stall bar latches are quick & quiet and have external release capability in an emergency. The Champion's empty weight is approximately 1985 lbs. It's designed so that the loaded tongue weight will not exceed 211 lbs. (Compare that to the 500-800 lb. tongue weight of the typical domestic 2H BP.) Böckmann’s minimum vehicle requirements. They’re easily met or exceeded by many vehicles available in North America. The vehicle must: * Have at least 125 horsepower. (Many V6-powered SUVs have over 200 HP.) * Have a wheelbase of at least 100 inches. (Most SUVs & trucks have a WB well over 100 inches.) * Be rated to accept max. loaded tongue weight. (For most Böckmann models, loaded tongue weight does not exceed 211 lbs. Even small SUVs are often rated to handle 300 lbs. tongue load on the hitch.) The Böckmann Champion has anodized aluminum walls and floors for long-lasting corrosion protection and good looks. Anodization creates a tough oxide surface layer that offers excellent resistance to animal wastes and road salt effects. Anodization is common in the marine industry, where components often have to withstand a harsh saltwater environment. The Big Champion R features tough stacked aluminum-tube wall construction on a durable galvanized steel chassis. Don't confuse this with the "aluminum skin over steel frame" on some trailers. The Böckmann wall design resembles how they stack logs to build a log home. The roof and nose cap are durable fiberglass. The floor consists of interlocking extruded aluminum planks, anodized for durability and double-walled in high-load areas. Even though smaller vehicles can pull the Champion safely, it's quite stout in its construction—quiet, too, thanks to the double-wall aspect of the stacked wall tubes and floor components. Many domestic horse trailers have electric brakes. Böckmanns have mechanically-actuated brakes, which offer many benefits. Böckmann calls them Overrun brakes, but they work on the same principle as the Inertia braking system we spoke of for many years with another European brand. (Some folks call them Surge brakes, but they’re not. Surge brakes are hydraulic. Overrun brakes use a very simple mechanical actuator.) As the tow vehicle decelerates, Overrun brakes apply braking force automatically in proportion to the load in the trailer. What does this mean in real-world terms? You don't need to adjust a brake controller. IN FACT, YOU DON'T NEED A BRAKE CONTROLLER IN THE TOW VEHICLE! Böckmann’s braking system has been providing hassle-free stopping for decades on roads worldwide. It’s simple, reliable, and very well-proven. For those of you who prefer your information in summary form, here are some key Champion R features: * Well-proven, balanced, aerodynamic design * Light tongue weight & low drag for safe towing, even by smaller vehicles * Bright, inviting, well-ventilated interior * Ramp/door - lower as a ramp or swing aside for step-up loading - all in one trailer! * Adjustable height Multi Safe System (MSS) padded chest bars (Easy to Adjust!) with external emergency release * Multi Safe System (MSS) butt bars, easily adjustable for height and stall length, with external emergency release) * Butt bars and chest bars have fast-action latches that fit snugly; they're quick & quiet, and you don't spend much time in the kick zone when loading and unloading! * Tinted window at the front of each stall opens for ventilation * Subject trailer equipped with optional roof vent/skylight * Extra tall (5 feet) anodized aluminum rear ramp with dual assist struts - very easy to lift * Ramp mat ribbed & contoured for traction * Self-furling 3-mode rear curtain above ramp - Position 1) curtain open, Position 2) curtain closed, or Position 3) curtain closed with vent screen open * Steps on the rear ramp to aid curtain access * Wall pads at stalls * Kick panels on lower walls * Rubber floor mats are bonded to the floor and sealed at the edges for added floor protection and ease of cleaning—there is no need to lift the mats! * Standard English tack compartment with telescoping saddle racks, hooks, storage net, mirror, broom/scraper, and shovel * Standard tie loops inside & out * Smooth-riding torsion axles (with shock absorbers - a rare find!) * Smooth-stopping 4-wheel Overrun brakes - you don't need a brake controller! * Sealed wheel bearings for simplified maintenance. No yearly packing of wheel bearings! * Radial tires, including spare * Bright, reliable LED marker lights * And how about these thoughtful touches? Payment is to be made via cash or wire transfer. Cashier's checks will only be accepted if they are made out to the EXACT amount of the sale, and the trailer will not be released until the cashier's check clears (potentially a few weeks unless you are local and we are together at the bank—sorry, just too much fraud out there).
